Tamil Teachers

In the last episode of Neeya Nana, the discussion was about Tamil Teachers.

Many participants were of the opinion that Tamil teachers are boring, out-dated in their approach etc., I want to place my opinions strongly in this forum :

During my high school days, I had a beautiful Tamil teacher. Her name was B K Dhanalakshmi. She should have been 50+. We all would be expecting her classes everyday. The reason was :

She starts the class with an amazing song (What we call as manapada cheyyul).

She teaches all those poetry with such a beautiful tune and it immediately gets registered in your mind.. We keep singing the songs / cheyyul / tirukkural even when we were at home

She always has a smiling face and the way in which she teaches, is amazing.. Even now i can say the rules of a venpa.. She taught even this with a rythmn.

Ner Ner - Thema
Nirai Ner - Pulima
Nirai Nirai - Karuvilam
Ner Nirai - Koovilam

Non-detailed would be enacted as a story.. Panjali sapatham seyyul was enacted as a story.. It reached our minds. It is not just scoring marks boss, but the values it imbibes in you is more important !

The point is our determination to derive more learnings, not who is teaching.. I do agree that we have an inclination towards some teachers, but please dont stamp as Tamil teahers are worse and English teachers are good.. On the whole, teachers are wonderful human beings ! They sacrifice their life so as to make the world a better place to live in !

As my MJ says / sings : "Heal the World.. Make it a better place, For you and for me and the entire human race"

Today in our Alma Mater webcast, Rajan was narrating his experience in managing time. He told "The only free time i have is my toilet time, rest of the time i am teaching".. Yes, such is the passion and such is the miracle they create. They are wonderful..

Loving you dear teachers !!!!!!!
